Biography

I have always wanted to be a teacher, and spent my childhood playing school with my stuffed animals. I love watching children learn new things and grow!

I have a dual teaching certificate in elementary and special education and a master's degree in instructional technology from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. I started my teaching career in a rural school district in Pennsylvania. I taught 2 years of special education, then transitioned to 5th grade regular education. I was the reading teacher for my team for 4 years.

In 2012 my family and I moved to Maine. I began teaching 6th grade here at Ella Lewis School.  Since then I have taught a wide variety of subjects in grades 4-8. My favorite part of teaching at Ella is taking students to work in the green house.

When I am not at school I love to spend time with my husband and children. We like to spend time outdoors doing all sorts of fun things like hiking, boating and fishing. In the summer, I love to spend time in my garden.

"Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best."
